Custom Made For Jenny

Sorry, it's very dark in my room, but look what I made! My necklaces were taking over my jewelry tree in a way that was unhelpful, so I've been looking for an alternative. They have some options at Michael's, but they either require stacking the necklaces or don't hold enough. A belt or tie rack with smaller pegs is what I was envisioning, but I couldn't find that, and decided to just make my own. I finally went to Home Depot today to turn in a CFL bulb for recycling, and decided to be super productive while I was there. I found a lumber guy and explained my plan, thinking I just needed to know what type and thickness of wood I'd need, and how far apart to put the nails to keep it from splitting. Right away, he suggested MDF instead to avoid that problem. Aha! I did have to buy a 2' x 2' sheet, but he cut two boards for me, and I've got the leftover. I bought finishing nails and some D rings for picture hanging. I thought would paint it, but I'm kind of liking it as is.

I lied- this wasn't today. I just forgot to finish the blog.

Prestige Worldwide

Tonight was the last softball game. I hit the ball over second base and made it to first of my own accord- not due to an error or distraction. Did you hear that? I hit the ball OVER SECOND BASE. I went to the batting cages again last night with Ant and Amanda, and got some practice in. That was my goal for the season and I did it. That, combined with my two catches from the previous game, and I'm feeling like this season was a win, though we lost every game except two- against the team everyone beat, and that same team when they forfeited the game and quit the league. If this were the Iditarod, we'd win the red lantern. And even though I was terrified and dreaded softball every week, I started dreading it later and later until tonight, when I did not feel the dread until the bases were loaded and my turn was coming up. Thankfully, someone else hit and the bases were mostly cleared each time I went to hit. We lost 23 to 7 tonight, but we had fun. And I went to every game through the dread, which sometimes lasted the whole week. I played in my 0 jersey and kept my word and even accomplished my goal. That is a win.
